Bacurau, the author of the chamadas that enchant in the Salon of the Vegetal

Raimundo Ribeiro Chagas, known by the affectionate nickname of Bacurau, is one of the pioneers in União do Vegetal. He was by Mestre Gabriel’s side in 1961 when UDV was created in the rubber tree plantations of the Amazon. On May 1st, Bacurau, who is now in the Body of Council, turned 75 years old.

In his honor, the UDV Blog republishes the post “Bacurau, one of the pioneers of União do Vegetal”, which was published on May 17th, 2017. In the post, it is possible to learn a little more of this disciple of Mestre Gabriel and author of some chamadas that still enchant us today in the Salons of União do Vegetal.

Counselor Bacurau has been seen frequently around Núcleos in Brasília (DF) where he has directed Sessions and shared his experiences about living in the rubber tree plantations and being by Mestre Gabriel’s side. Today he lives in Ji-Paraná (RO) and is working to restore his health.
