Novo Encanto (New Enchantment)
As a result of having been created in the Amazon rainforest and having at the center of its ritual, the use of Hoasca Tea, prepared from two plants native to the region (Mariri and Chacrona), the União do Vegetal was born with the commitment of respect, care and preservation of the environment.
From that reality, in 1990, members of the União do Vegetal founded a non-governmental organization to implement its environmental initiatives: the Novo Encanto Association of Ecological Development, which became a Civil Society Organization of Public Interest (OSCIP) in 2010, with the ability to carry out projects for preservation and sustainable development.
COMMITMENT TO NATURE
In 1991, the Novo Encanto formalized a technical cooperation agreement with the Beneficent Spiritist Center União do Vegetal, which provides all of the support on common goals. Among them: the preservation and planting of Mariri and Chacrona; training the planters of these plants; environmental education; development of permaculture, agroforestry, organic agriculture and bio-construction techniques; and the preservation of springs. The development of forest management projects and the recovery of degraded areas are part of the agreement.
